Tips on fully utilizing the Search engines
If you are trying to attract visitors to your site, you must create more pages with relevant content!!!!
If you create a single page with 500 keywords and phrases and submit it to the major search engines you won't achieve the "relevance" ranking you are after for each keyword and phrase. You would be far better off creating 300 pages by breaking up the 500 keywords and phases into good meta information "Title: Description: Keywords:" and good content based on those keywords and phrase. In this way you can design the weight of the page around those keywords, phrases and relevant content so you can pass good information onto the public.
Each page should also contain relevant content based on the meta information, amounting to at least 200 - 500 words of content. If you submit pages with irrelevant content and Meta information that is designed to grab traffic from search engines and give false or misleading information to the user it will be considered Spam and your site could be blacklisted.
Creating these page is easy, you can follow the simple template below or you can have a professional company put them together for you.
Example:
You have a travel company selling West Virginia. You need to create pages for all keywords and phrase that people might search for in order to find travel opportunities in West Virginia.
Title: West Virginia Travel.
Description: West Virginia Travel Company offering a way to fulfill all vacation needs.
Keywords: West Virginia travel, lodging, west virginia vacation, whitewater rafting, state parks, national parks....
Content 200 - 500 words of Relevant Content (travel.htm)
Title: Lodging in West Virginia.
Description: Vacation lodging in West Virginia, Cabins, B&Bs...
Keywords: West Virginia lodging, travel, west virginia vacation, whitewater rafting, state parks, national parks.... (lodging.htm)
Content 200 - 500 words of Relevant Content (travel.htm)
.. and so on.
Some no-no's:
Don't try to hide your keywords by making them the same color as the background.
Don't create pages with good Meta information a picture that says click here for more information and no content.
Don't cloak your pages.
Don't use redirects in pages.
Don't use frames on pages.
One point that can't be made enough is to add misspelled words to your pages
